well chums, I think it's time we laid down some rules and stuff.

first off, I'd love to hear all your suggestions on what to choose as our first book. also, I'd like some input as to how often we read a book. monthly, bi-monthly, whatever. we should set a date by when to finish each book, but feel free to post whatever you think or any questions or points you want to bring up in the interval.
one of the most important rules of this club is that should a new harry potter book ever come out, we will drop whatever we are reading, and read that.
Jen, since you have a paid account I'd like you to help me by conducting those nifty polls so we can decide which book to read first. everyone post a suggestion or concur with someone else's suggestion, and then ms. Jen, if you please, make one of those cute polls so we can decide.
so far the suggestions stand as:
me--villa incognito by tom robbins
eitan--jesus' son by some guy I can't remember.

ooh this sounds like fun!

I got kicked out of my old book club for being to controversial.

Would we have discussions or just recommend books?

This is an excellent idea.
Should they be new books? Or just books that are like "oh my god this is an old favorite, i demand you all read it"? Any specific genre? (ie, all my expertise runs to fantasy, religion, psychology and weird fiction). *head explodes* The only thing i could say as a "not" would be nothing in the middle of a series.

I absolutely agree on the Harry Potter thing. But it won't be a drop and read, it'll be more like an "i have to finish this book so i can start harry potter at midnight when it comes out". Which is exactly what i did when Order of the Phoenix came out.

I really don't have any suggestions... I've probably only read stuff that's already been well-read by most of you guys. i dunno. My bookshelf is filled with fantasy books, manga, and psychology/depression related fiction. o_x
